The Streets of Colonia

The Streets of Colonia

00:00 / 00:55
Anchor 1

The sodium lanterns softly glow, casting gentle shadows on this hallowed row. Dusk descends upon this historic quarter. Each uneven cobble, weathered and rounded, tells tales of the past, echoing the footsteps of Portuguese and Spanish settlers who once wandered these narrow passageways. The evening brings a tranquil atmosphere. The air is tinged with the scent of the river, and the nearby bougainvillaea blooms, adding a sweetness to the salty breeze. The streets of Colonia are now deserted; all the tourists have returned to their cruise ships. Leaving us, the wonders and the dreamers, to listen to the whispering secrets of colonial conquests, losing myself in its timeless charm.
